More 60's British psych (1967). I've always loved this band "TOMORROW" from 1967 featuring Steve Howe (several years before he joined YES) and Twink (pre-Pretty Things)...

Great sound--here's a couple of their songs.....

Classic Live album -- great energy from Edgar, Johnny, and co.

I really enjoy this as well (Edgar's first two LP's in one double set)....

the lead off track is a blistering 6:32 cover of Donovan's Hurdy Gurdy Man, followed with an 8:54 track titled "Hurdy Gurdy Glissando". Produced and engineered by Todd Rundgren. a 50cent HPB pickup this week.
Haven't heard this one (yet) but I'll have to check it out. Todd Rundgren is one of those producers with the "Midas Touch". Just about anything he touches turns to gold (musically, not necessarily sales-wise!). He's produced amazing LP's by so many bands--Badfinger, the Tubes, Rick Derringer, Cheap Trick to name just a very few. I own his entire catalog (34 LP's including his Utopia albums).... Here's a photo of a few of them....

"We're An American Band" by GFR has Todd's production help. The guy was busy with his own and other projects from the mid 60s on, I continue to find his name on all kinds of records. In the case of the Hillage record, I'm sure it was a collaboration with Hillage bringing his Caterbury scene and Gong background, and with the Utopia band playng on the record. I bet Todd has some stories, he should write a book. He is mentioned a few times in Patti Smith's book, "Just Kids".

Good catch--I mentioned Utopia and omitted Nazz! I really like their first two LP's (the 3rd was released after the band split but had some worthwhile tracks nonetheless). Looks like the first Nazz is covered in Renerox's post (Yes, those Rhino re-issues were great pressings!)--here are some songs from the second "Nazz Nazz".....
    ALBUM OPENER

    SIDE TWO OPENER

TODD'S APPARENT TAKE ON LAW ENFORCEMENT! ("YOU LOOK LIKE A PERSON BUT YOU KNOW YOU'RE A PIG")

EDIT: BTW, Todd often still includes "Open My Eyes" from the first Nazz LP in his live set to this day. The last time I saw him live (a couple years ago) he did a great version of it with his (then) current band: Prairie Prince on drums (amazing!), Kasim Sulton on bass, etc.......

    Kinks - Kinkdom
    (1965, Reprise) Mono

I have a couple of copies with variations on the cover, both US mono issues. I'm guessing that the cover with the hit "Well Respected Man" listed is the later issue.. This record includes lots of Kinks' goodness and a version of "Louie, Louie" (!)
