    Help tuning box

I am a newbie here and am starting my first diy project. I have 4 - 2226H drivers to put into two bass enclosures, (two per box) the cabinets are a total of 9.5 sq feet each so 4.75 sq feet per driver however they are not ported. I have lots of leftover plastic plumbing pipe 3" inside dia. and from what I can guess and read I am thinking 6 ports 6" deep per cabinet( two drivers) I would be gratefull for any input on this tuning issue as I am not sure if I am close. thank so much. After you use that software to arrive at a tuning frequency required for two drivers in each box, you need a signal generator, a meter that counts frequency, and a 10 ohm resistor to use as a reference.

Tuning the boxes needs to be done with these basic items, not just based on the lengths the program puts out. I would also determine the exact values of the 4 drivers and use these numbers in running the calculations, although the 2226 is noted for being on spec most of the time.

If you have crossover coils in series with the woofer the resistance in the coils will call for a larger box, so reduce the box size by about 3 percent to compensate.

Finding the box frequency means determining the point at which the drivers are barely moving and most of the acoustic output is from the ports, air in the ports will be at maximum pressure while the drivers are at minimal movement.
Why buy used when you can build your own?

    Box tuning

I must be gettig old and senile , I tried lo download that program but was unable to get into it, I will try again and I have a computer savy buddy going to look at it later. Thanks for the help so far, I got the boxes used but the are very well made I just have to make front baffle boards.(easy) I should have stated from the start I do have the option of making the boxes smaller at this time (if that will help) but not bigger I will try this as well in the program. Also not sure how to go about the testing you mentioned If you could expand a little on that it would be great thanks again Bodog
