Hi, I have a PSA 2 XH that needs a "resister trim network". It's located at RN4 which translates to part # D4445-9. Does any know the value of it or an aftermarket part number for it?
Thank you kindly in advance,
Tom

Did you call Crown?
You might also want to try the Crown forum. There are a few knowledgeable DIY folk there plus a couple of Crown employees. Check it out: http://www.crownaudio.com/forums/

the service manual and schematic are online here:

The RN4 is a trim resistor WITH 2 additional resistors as part of it's ceramic substrate. There is no commercial equivalent. And the volt regs are NLA.
And I doubt that it is .35 - I remember them being a lot more and there is a good chance they are NLA.

Subwoof,
I'm going to call Crown today and hope I can still get two. What is one to do when these parts start failing, use the amps as door stops since these parts are NLA? It would be such a shame.
The resistor you need is part of the LV circuit in the power supply. A competent tech can easily use new style regulators with common trimpots. I have had to do this a number of times over the years.
Be sure to replace the big 'lytics too. Also on the main board there is a 20K precision resistor that balances the temp / fan circuit. They drift high with age and cause the fan to go to high speed too soon. Replace it with a new one or a pair of 10K in series.

I did. I still haven't received a call back from them. But the main reason I would like to find it locally is because the piece only weights 1 ounce and cost .35 cents but their new shipping rates state they will charge $10 to get it to me.
