    JBL Northridge Series

I did listen to the JBL HLS610 for a while but I ended up liking the JBL N26 better since the highs sounded more lifelike to me. Also the bass is more punchy than the HLS610 was. Maybe it's because the N26 uses Polyplas cones. Anyways do you know a way I can buy a pair of grills for the speakers since I got my N26 used and the grills have minor holes in some areas.

Also is the N26 suppose to be built better since it has the pro drivers like titanium-laminate dome tweeters and polyplas cones?

Polyplas drivers and Ti laminates are very basic consumer level drivers. They perform well for what they are, and they may have some trickle down technology from Pro drivers, but they are a long way from JBL Pro level.
    Out.

I have a bunch of Northridge stuff hanging around. They actually sound far better than they look like they should. Used within their limits they are pretty good value for money. Obviously they cant compete with Pro drivers but why use a sledge hammer when a tack hammer will do the job just fine.

Question Is this JBL S36II speakers any better?

I was lucky and I found a pair of perfectly working JBL S36II speakers and they are in good condition the seller said. I did buy them and my question is that is the JBL S36II way better than JBL HLS610, JBL N26 or the JBL Monitor from Venue Series?

I once had the JBL HLS610, JBL N26 and the JBL Monitor and they all sounded good but from what I remember the HLS610 and the Monitor sounded the best. I never owned the JBL S36II before and I was hoping that these are better. But if not then I can always sell them on Ebay and buy the HLS610 or the Monitor since those are the two I' am most interested in.

For somereason I been having problems trying to post a new topic. Maybe this forums has some problems.

Let me get this straight: You've owned all these other models and you're asking us if your latest acquisition is better? What do you think?

Well I always thought that its good to ask for feedbacks from other people who have these speakers or has heard them to get some ideas. I just wanted some reviews on these speakers thats all.

    I have a pair JBL N26.

Use them at Church for monitor speakers. I liked them enough that I got pair of N26WII outdoor version for my patio.
They do sound good, but they will not compete with a real studio monitors.
They seem to be on the way out, the Harman eBay web store only has this currently.

I did talk to JBL techs and they said that normaly that the S36II is not made for stereo speaker but is that true? Since if that's the case I might have to sell the S36II and buy the HLS610 or the JBL Monitor from Venue Series.

The S36II is sold only in pairs.

I use the S36IIAW outside by the hot tub driven by a Sansui G-8000 and they sound decent for this application. I have had them for three years which include some pretty harsh winters.

I've had a pair of the N26II installed for the last 3 years in the corners of my bathroom and listen to them every morning. If I thought I could get a better sounding speaker for my purposes, I'd have replaced them by now. Well balanced, all around good sounding speakers, plenty of bass and good high end extension. These are much much better than you would expect, kudos to JBL for such a great product. I think they are better than the Paradigm Titans I use elsewhere.
