Any of you ever seen copper dust caps on JBL's before? Did JBL use them from the factory? The cone # is 21032.

That might not be a JBL cone job,,the outer surround looks awfully big.
Hey, Maron,
That's what I was thinking, too. Take care, and God Bless!

The only thing that can never be taken away from you, is your honor. Cherish it, in yourself, and in others.
Yes I have. That is not actually copper but copper colored. Those are most likely late 60,s vintage.
That cone looks to be real JBL to me as well.
This was discussed once before, it might be something that JBL did for Fender. The cone and edge doping look like original JBL style to me.

Finally, this message from Mix Magazine:
"Subject: Trident HG3 Monitors selected as AES Hit!
Mix has been reporting on major audio/music tradeshows for more
than 30 years, and we like to acknowledge some of the more innovative
products we’ve found at these events. This year, Trident’s HG3 monitors
were selected by the editors of Mix as one of the Top-20 hits of
AES 2009, as reported online and in the November 2009 issue.

Congratulations on creating a hit product. We look forward to discovering
more of these from you in the months and years to come. Keep ’em coming!

And Scott Dorsey had this to say:
"BEST SOUND IN SHOW
------------------
Trident Audio Developments was showing off a pair of small nearfield
monitor speakers called the HG3, and they actually sounded good. It
wasn't prone to any of the painfully obvious issues that most small
monitor designs are. Now, I've only heard them under show floor
conditions and not in a proper room, but they definitely show enough
promise that I am going to go out and give them a listen."
