I don't care too much for foam surrounds that also melt with time.

"Most foams are made from polyurethane which ultimately reverts to a liquid sticky state similar to the parent polyurethane paint finish-genere."

The foam I use does not disintegrate or rot - is an improved formula.

Course, you should allready know that

I ended up ordering a 12" square by 1/2" thick piece and it arrived the next day. I cut out a piece the same size as the stock foam and put it in. The 1/4" thick felt probably works just as well. The 5" diameter x 1/2" thick foam for a 2445 from JBL Pro is backordered for a month or two.

Now there is a diaphragm that does NOT need any haphazard foam damping!

    Felt for 2420? 1/4 or 1/2

I have to replace foam for felt. What would be the tickness? 1/4 or 1/2?

The foam is 2.5" in diameter and .5" thick.

IIRC the felt pads in TAD 4" diaphragm drivers are less thick than that.
