Possible stupid question about 2226 G/H/J

I was assuming they were compatible, meaning that you could drop a C4R, C8R or C16R2226 in any basket since the motor/frame was basically the same, a 2226, period.

    Now on this page: http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Thi...Parameters.pdf
    (Thanks Earl K )
I found that the flux is different for the 4ohms version so it makes me wonder
The magnet gaps would be different?

P.S., yes I searched before asking and I didn't find a definite answer.

Gaps are the same, BL/Sensitivity/Le and other specs will change, however. They're largely a "box drop in", meaning similar/equivalent acoustic performance, but different crossover requirements.

That's what I tought, but why would the 2226G have 1.05T flux instead of 1 like the H and the J

That value has nothing to do with voice coil or cone or mechanics.

Hmm.. my guess was the G model came later and someone retested/remeasured,
so that the new T/S table row got entered as measured...
and there really is no difference. Emphasis on [also just a guess].

Right. Same motor. Just upping the flux isn't that simple- they operate the motors with the most flux density they can get for a given assembly. Need less flux, shrink the magnet.
