    L100S with L112 Drivers

Hi, This is my first contribution post!
Just wanted to share how nicely my trial of a frankenswitch came out.
The L100S has the L100T3 XO and I wasn't in love with the sound, however, I really have loved my L112s for some time - especially the 128Hs. I did a lot of switching among the 2214H, the 128H, and also with the third cabinet I have which is the standard L100T. Putting the 128H in the bigger L100S/T cabinet was a huge improvement, retaining all of the solid grace of its performance in the 112 cabinet, but with just lower extension of the bass. None of the bloom/boom I was expecting. The 2214H just didn't do anything for me. Night and day with the 128H. The 2214 was too neutral and didn't seem to produce nearly the mid bass or bass response I like. So, I ventured further to compare the mids and tweeters in the 3 crossovers - L112, L100T, and L100S/T3. The winner was the L100T3 with all of the smoothness of the L112, but a little more life. The L100T was very flat without smoothness or life. The L100S cabinet was a bit rough to begin with - vinyl veneer and all. Can't say it looks any better with a pair of 044s sticking out the front, but it fulfills all of my sonic needs at this point. Also found no comparison between the 035Ti and the 044. I have tried alot of tweeters and so far nothing comes close to the 044, though it was bested in my mind by the Be NS-1000.
Thought I would share this for those in the gear jockeying mode.
    Peace,
    Bruce.

That's interesting, I've got two pairs of L112's as well as their bigger brother the L150's. I've always prefered the le25-2, 035tia, and the 033 over the 044's. I guess the L112's are a little to flat for my taste but they still sound great, however matching them to my 150's I like the 033 much better. Just just preference though. To each his own
