Maybe not quite what you're looking for but Sheffield Lab has CDs of some of their two track direct to disc recordings. I have a Tower Of Power CD that is outstanding on my Altec/McIntosh system and when it was released there were a dozen other CD titles listed.

There is also a JBL CD named Jazz samples (i think) with quite good sound.
Not a DEMO record, but i would recommend Jim Reeves on LP. Sounded incredible through the S9800.
