Has anybody seen Ethan Allen- JBL cabinets before

I have a oppertunity to purchase these Ethan Allen- JBL speaker cabinets. They have a LX300 woofer and a LE 25-2 tweeter. They have Ethan Allen stamped into the rear on them. Does anyone know approx how old they are, what model they are and how much they are worth. They sound ok, but I could not get the speaker grills off to check the condition of the surrounds of the woofer and mid.

I'm guessing they were Ethan Allen Furniture modified by an owner to become speaker cabinets. Do you have photo's of the back side?

    ?

Does that enclosure have 3 (three) ports? That's odd.

Never heard of this item before.

And the basket on the woofer looks a little EV "Wolverine"-ish.

I agree that the woofer looks more like EV than JBL. I'd peel off that sticker and see what's underneath.

I thought an LX 300 was a relatively cheap JBL system using a 406G-1 (6") woofer?

". . . as you have no doubt noticed, no one told the 4345 that it can't work correctly so it does anyway."—Greg Timbers

In any case, I'd pass if it were me looking.

Yes it has 3 ports inside, 2 near the top, and 1 near the bottom.

    Woofer don't look JBL...

Looks more like a EV 12" like "transducergeek" mentioned.

I would say these were a home-brew design.

The woofer is an EV "Wolverine" LS-12A twincone/full-range (or the Allied morph thereof).
There could well have been an OEM labeled for JBL for all I know, though.
