    Question

Stop it. You have found nirvana. Why screw it up with questions, especially about powered (250w bi-amped 8-inch two-way with a PR6x12), highly filtered speakers...?

Mackie has absolutely stuffed those cabinets with gear. You will find the 4301B a more elegant solution, not requiring such filtering...

But maybe that wasn't your question.

Well, I don't know if they are "better" but certainly simpler and very, very different.

The Mackie HR824 are a very, VERY highly engineered set-up.

Bi-amped, 8.75in LF, 6x12 PR, active L-R -24dB xover (1800Hz), lots and lots of filters. Egads...

I guess, I would like to A/B them, and imagine we'd be pretty impressed with what a 30-year-old well engineered 2-way passive 8-in can do!
