Restoring JBL Paragon

I'm planning to restore our Paragon and would like to start with the interconnection wires between speaker components. What would be the best wires to use and how do I do a quick test before I do it? Thanks.

I use Carol 16 gauge,black & red Primary Wire from parts Express,,,But Belden or Canari 16 ga. is fine too. Actually the origional wire JBL used is fine... Exotic high priced wire in such short runs I find is a waste of money. What else are you going to do to the restoration of the Paragon ???? I have three units. And plan to aquire one more.
