    Are Outlaw products good?

I need a separate processor to match up with (3) Bryston 4B amps in a separate component system.
Thinking of buying an Outlaw 990 Preamp Processor. http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/990.html
Sounds a bit too good to be true for $699. Anything close is $2K plus.

This model does not have HDMI which I have never used and know nothing about. (use component) How important is that?

I am not very educated on consumer electronics so any advice is appreciated.

Take a look at the Denon DN-A7100:

One of the better sounding units, very stable, very affordable, with balanced outputs. These pieces evolve very rapidly.
