I just picked-up a JBL-made Peavey 15" speaker. It may have been made for an early model of Peavey steel guitar amp.
Does anyone here know anything about this speaker or have any specs ?
Thanks in advance....Phil

How many spokes in the frame?
There are two theories to arguing with women, but...neither has worked.
Ok.
I was verifying that the speaker was not a Black Widow, a speaker which Peavey used in the Session and Nashville steel guitar amps for many years. They have 3 spokes. Those were "voiced" to sound like a D130.
If you could get a couple pics up of your JBL speaker I'm sure the guys out here will be more than helpful. (I'm a rookie, at best, so I'll sit back and learn)

Looks like a K-130 to me. Same rounded magnet pot and spring clip, same style basket, same black paint, same square vent, even the same style cone. Might have had a different style cone when it was 4 ohms, who knows?

Drive 'em to the Xmax!
Thanks Mike. What vintage is the K-130 ?
Over on the Steel Guitar forum, the guys have pegged this speaker as being OEM equipment in early Peavey Session 400 and LTD amplifiers - both steel guitar amps. Later versions of these amplifier and their predecessors had Peavey Black Widows.
Sorry. The surround looks like it might be a D-130F, with a M shape (Two wide rolls). Is it paper, one piece from cone to basket, or is it cloth edged? I think the K-130 had the WW shape cloth surround (smaller pleats, and more than two).
Hopefully someone who knows will chime in and let you know the vintage.

Looks like a cloth surround from where I'm sitting.
