    2121s hardened surround,need replacement?

    Hi to all,
I've noticed since a while that my 2121s lansalloy surrounds were getting stiffer, the cones does not move that much when push manually,do you think they need immediate replacement or can i still use them untill the repair shop opens back in a month time?? any advise would be welcome, thanks in advance,MEvin

    Hello Mevin

2121's cone excursion generally isn't that large. I'd say you can wait another month. Don't bother with the brake fluid thing, IME it doesn't last and is simply unscientific.

I just did 2 pairs, one w/lansaloy surrounds. The sonic difference with new surrounds is considerable. Cone kits may be on back order in Europe, there was a new batch available from JBL last year, but currently they are out of stock again according to Harman Germany.

PM me to discuss further details if you like.
