    JBL 2240h problem

    Hello!

I hope you guys can help me

I just bought a 2240 for a project. It was old, and it needed a recone kit, and it had a strange noise. when you tilt the speaker unit forth and back it sounds like it has a lose metal component behind the dust cap. like if one of the bolts that holds the magnet is off, underneath the spider.

So the cone should off any way. BUT... It wan not that. Iīm standing with the motor/magnet and are shaking it, and some thing is making that noise inside. what..... what can that be? sounds like itīs a bigger component but iīm not sure. but it canīt be magnetic... it is difficult to see anything in that coil gap, and the voice coil looks fine. it doesnīt look like something is missing.

Hope you have some good ideas!

    Best regards
    Martin

    Hello again

Thanks to google and this website, the conclusion is, that the "flux stabilization ring" has become loose. Now the fun part will be to glue it back again -through the voice coil gap... = not funny! -But a challenge i will take

    Best regards
    Martin
