I received the first piece of gear I purchased today. I obviouly wish the circumstances under which I acquired it were better, but Rick (who's working on John's behalf) was accomodating, shipping was quick, and communication was excellent.

Dear Members,
It is with great sadness to let you know that John passed away this morning. As many of you know, John loved the forum. He would check it out up til about two weeks ago when he couldn’t type any more. I know many of you loved him and that he was a source of support.
May God give him the rest and peace that he truly deserves.

Though this is sad news, thanks for sharing it with us. I can only hope he now has the release from pain and suffering that he dearly longed for. Thanks for being there to see him through to the end; that's the mark of selfless friendship.

I'd like to suggest the administrators and moderators consider a way to memorialize John's participation here. If it's not appropriate then fine, but please consider it. He was a fixture in many aspects of our community.

I’m a little shocked and saddened to read the passing of Lansing Heritage member that I hardly knew. I wish to extend my deepest thoughts to his family. May John now rest in pace from the pain and agony.
