Arrow JBL never advertised on TV?

How come JBL is never advertised on British TV on ITV or Channel4 during the break?

Its always shampoo, Ford cars, Panasonic Sony/Toshiba/TV/Plasma, Music CD from HMV Tesco or ASDA, cat/dog food, washing powder, god damn Andie MacDowell and that sodden LOreal Excellence Cream…

You follow me! I want to see JBL advisements for once, not that I watch British TV anymore, but if I’m around a friend I want to see JBL for once!

Anyway I noticed this last night and thought its about time JBL had its short! Buzz off Andie MacDowell and take LOreal and shove it, and use soap like ordinary people.

If its any consolation, I've only recently seen an occasional ad on the local CBS station (during the 6-7PM news block) for "Harman group" with images of the various logos (JBL, Crown, etc) sliding over a generic image of musicians

wait - I thought you didn't pay TV tax because you only use your telly for movies (DVDs and LDs) - there's no commercials on them ... how do you know about this??

are you some kinda UK broadcast tax pirate ??

    ahhh - radio Caroline

Not for all the tea in China. I’m not interested in TV and I still stand by that. It’s just when I pop over to friends, the box is playing and yet no JBL or even B&W advertised! Something is wrong? What don’t loudspeakers have say in advertising on the tube?

Oaky, okay, I think there was one advisement a few years ago, but I think that was aimed at the cinema. The JBL creature!

Other than Bose, I can't remember any ads for speakers on tv. And we all know what Bose is.
You'll never see ads for good wine either, they don't need to. Just the cheap, garbage gut wine is advertized.
Same for good speakers, don't need to be advertized.

Why bother to advertize if you don't have any distribution system?

It would just be a waste of money.

There is a large Bose store in an outlet mall nearby. Everytime I drive by I try to imagine that it says JBL instead of Bose.

You just can't compete with a company that can charge $1,000 for crap that costs $25 to build, and can sell them to customers who are so giddy about having that "Quality Bose Sound" that they don't realize how badly they are getting ripped off.

I guess many people haven't learned that advertizing is 99% BS.

I believe Sainsbury’s advertise wine and I’m sick of it because I don’t drink and they shove it in your face on the tube.

B&W sponsored the recent Live at Abbey Road programs.
JBL could use Reading/Glastonbury/live/concert/Jools Holland type TV prog sponsorship(it's relatively cheap compared to TV commercials) and benefit from the specific targeting this would allow to at least raise brand awareness..

You in the UK I'd say are lucky. Over here, 90% of the TV ads are either cars, cars, and more cars...the latest wunder-drug you just gotta have (like Cialis for your schwing or Abilify for your depression) ...or morons like Vince of ShamWow and Billy Mays.

Commercials for decent audio products? HA! Are you kidding me?!

    LMAO

    Here in my car
    I feel safest of all
I can lock all my doors
It's the only way to live in cars
    Here in my car
    I can only receive
    I can listen to you
It keeps me stable for days in cars

    Here in my car
    Where the image breaks down
    Will you visit me please
If i open my door in cars
    Here in my car
You know i've started to think
    About leaving tonight
Although nothing seems right in cars

OMG there’s even a ring tone for mobile phone.

I think broadcast TV stations are rather cynical then again, I’m also cynical sometimes. I can’t stand mobile phone adds, they really put it in your face. I’m rather surprised bluray hasn’t been heavily advertised yet I seem to remember compact disc many moons ago being advertised today its not even whisper about it on TV today.

You know what else that gets up my nose no pun Heather, I know you’re into gardens. Garden shows, garden shows, garden and more garden shows on every god damn terrestrial station!

Why doesn’t TV cater for loudspeakers say JBL TV show I mean why not! TV or digital is never going to reach or win me back with their attitude. Children’s shows for god sakes! It catered for me in the past, but I’ve seen moved on and want TV to cater for me or anyone that enjoys loudspeakers.

Its one perfectly good reason why I don’t watch anymore at home. Up there’s with brass knobs on!

Kinder like snooker, I used to enjoy the game but its like watching paint dry.

I can’t stand that song. I can’t make out one single clear lyrical note, its got too much reverberation and the instrumental is drowning out Bryan Ferry.

While JBL may never have been advertised on TV, this commercial did air and prominently featured a JBL speaker (L100) doing it's thing!
