    Rare JBL speakers?

    Does anyone know anything about these JBL's? Drivers are LE8's.

    How do they sound?
    Do they have feet - or places to attach feet on one side?

    From the look at the brochure not over costly when they where first introduced.

    What’s rated power handling/frequency response?

    Is that a coaxial bass/mid range driver?

    No, that's a "whizzer" cone glued on to "extend" the top end. It was the first LE8 model that Ed May designed. Later, Ed decided we didn't need the "whizzer" and it was left off of future LE8's.

    That was what those cones were called in the industry back then. The theory behind them was that by attaching this light cone to the voice coil former, the main cone would decouple at some point, and the whizzer cone was light enough to keep going up.
