Okay, so here's where I've spent some time hacking things together in a Web site. It's a work in progress.

As you can see, I ended up sticking with the Two Jims Theatre moniker. After all, why not? Only now it's The Two Jims II Theatre.

The site looks good, and offers a concise but personable walk through the experience.
Nice job
If you can see the following page it has links at the top under Lansing's and Fosgate's names, then there are eight links to the right of the blue welcome link:
Pre-Synthesis®
Construction
Installation
Calibration
JBL Gear
Fosgate Gear
Soundscraftsmen Gear
Miscellaneous
Click on any one to go to that gallery.

Works with our computers
Mac OS X 10.5:
Works on Safari 4, Firefox 3, Omniweb 5.8, AOL Desktop for Mac 1.5
Windows XP
Safari 4, Firefox 3
For some reason IE doesn't load the links. Don't know what to tell you. I'm sure it's a feature, not a bug.
A workaround for non-standards compliant browsers is usually to replace the page in the URL.
You arrive here:
http://web.me.com/dougsemark/JBL_Syn...a/Welcome.html
By replacing "Welcome" with "Construction" you go here:
http://web.me.com/dougsemark/JBL_Syn...struction.html
It's a bite , but it works.

Yeah, seems like that font only works with Safari. Was wondering how you got that typeface.
I put links directly in the text on the home page so you can jump to any page even if the nav menu doesn't show in your browser. How's that for service?

Back on thread, part of my caution about going BluRay is waiting for someone to perfect HD streaming. If that happens, then I don't need to purchase and hold a vast physical library of media. I don't need a BluRay player. I'll need a big hard drive (or solid state drive) in a stand-alone device or attached to my HTPC.
OTOH, the Oppo BluRay unit does so many other things well that it might be a must-buy item anyway. There's a space in the equipment closet rack that would be just right...
Plus the room is just begging for more HD content.
As for my Web link above, it seems to work just fine in Windows on Firefox, Chrome, Mozilla, Opera, or Safari. On IE, it's a crapshoot. Make sure Javascript is enabled, as that is needed. Otherwise, not much I can do. :dont-know

I've been looking at the Oppo as well. I'd like to explore SCAD and DVD-A. I know my speakers would do wonders with those formats.
I've input most everything on a spreadsheet, and it breaks down like this. My expenses, not including the Synthesis® system itself, were $9,138.66, and that includes $3,000 in professional services and $1,167.45 in additional equipment, like the Furman 20A power conditioner.
I spent about 400 hours of my time on the project, which can be valued any way one wishes and is not listed as an expense. I didn't add in Grumpy's volunteer labor, either, or the cost of beer and food.
There are some odds and ends to complete and some minor purchases yet to be made, but it's safe to say my cash outlay will be under $10,000. Again, this does not include the cost of the Synthesis® system, which will remain undisclosed.
It's a sure bet that it takes a lot longer as a DIY project, but the savings are substantial and the personal sense of accomplishment is quite high.
