In addition to sound, light is also a concern. Fortunately this room has no windows whatsoever, and the only doorway goes to another room. Since I decided not to put in a physical door, I installed two sets of drapes, both held back by ropes for access, then released to close for light control. With both sets closed, it is, as Vin Diesel might say, Pitch Black.

    Heather will recognize those chairs.

EDIT: Yep, that's a 4" bass trap by the doorway. There's another one in the other back corner of the room.

    Hi Ti,

Was there a reason for not recessing the T4A's?

I don't want to have to re-drywall the room in a year.

Also, Chris told me early on that on-wall mounting the S4Ai units (I'm assuming that's what you're referring to as T4A?) was an option that even JBL Synthesis® has used on a number of occasions with great success. Since the S4Ai is his design, I believe him without hesitation.

So I'm very comfortable with it, especially in conjunction with following his directions on diffuser placement.

Tricky but simple. I have understood.

Acoustically it is a fortune. But is there some exchange of air even if there is no one in the room? Does it perform your Radon removal system, which is quite unusual here (at least in Schleswig Holstein - between the dikes)?
I speak from experience as we have a small room for clothing, it needed a hole to the first floor - air flow by temperature differences.
The efficiency of this 18" driver is insane: 97dB!
    Unrestricted power, that's all.

Yes, but we now have the extremely rare Poang Table between our chairs ...

The Radon removal system is actually under the concrete floor, so it draws the Radon out of the soil as it rises. Since most of this room is also underground on three sides, the temperature is moderated quite a bit, and it's on the north and east side of the house. It's rarely warmer than 75 degrees F or cooler that 68 degrees F. For those extra cool winter nights, a small space heater is more than enough to warm the room.

There is positive air flow into the room on a constant basis, though at a very low volume, and it exits via the doorway.

The Synthesis® amps are probably going to change the equation as they will add some heat to the room, though so far they've never even gotten warm.

    That's some serious sweater weather.

Patiently awaiting the results of your calibration "party". Interested if more treatments were necessary, what Chris used to calibrate with and what adjustments were made.

Something silly, but I really enjoy on my system, are the THX DVD's that have their "trailers" on them. They really show off a good sound system.

    TURN IT UP!
