    Bass

I want to build a couple bass cabs to add some bass to my system. I have these drivers to choose from 2205A's, 135A's and 2220's. What would you guys suggest I use and why?

    Thanks

    Peter

    Hello

Why not just get a pair of 2235's ?? A pair of them would outclass them all for lowend extension. You might be able to use the frames 2205's?? from a pair of your existing drivers. You can do a search of the archives for which frames can be used. The recones and only about $120 each and would be well worth the expense. The 135's would be your best bet but I don't think there are T/S published for it. They were used in the L45 Flair Super L100 and the original 4350.

Thanks for the reply, the 2220's already have cabs and I may try them just for a test run. The original owner had the cab professionally built for them. I was offered $150.00 US for the JBL 135A's Does this seem reasonable?

On the 135's?? If they are in good shape?? Original cones?? Refoamed or Lansaloy?? They are also rare?? I don't know what the market is for them. That seems low for a pair of alnico's in good shape but I would see what the rest of the gang has to say and try an Ebay search as there has been a pair or 2 lately. You may also want to post some pictures in our market place forum and ask value and to see what the intrest is in them. You might get a surprise if a guy with original 4350's is looking for spares.

They are alnicos' but have been refoamed and one of the caps has a glue residue on it, as well as a stain on the cone.
