Did JBL Ever Work With Sansui in Developing Speakers?

On another board it was stated that JBL and Sansui worked together in designing such Sansui products as the SP3500/Sp5500 speakers. I'd heard this rumor before, but I've been unable to find any collaborating documentation of any kind. If it's true, I'd very much like to know because it would make for some interesting research. If it's not true, it would be good to squelch the rumor.

Does anybody here have any first-hand knowledge, or most important, documentation, that would shed some light on this?
