Diaphragm gasket on top of or underneath diaphragm?

    Hi Guys,

Can anybody tell me whether the rubber gasket supplied in the bag with the new binding post leads in Great Plains Audio's replacement diaphragm kits (it's an Altec 808 driver), goes between the diaphragm and the loading cap — or under the diaphragm between the driver and diaphragm.

There are two locating pins on top of the driver which aren't catered for in the gasket so I'm assuming it goes on top of the diaphragm under the loading cap.
(If anyone can verify this before I make an expensive mistake it would be much appreciated.)

Question answered by Bill at GPA.
(Gasket goes between diaphragm and loading cap as apparently the new diaphragm ring is a little larger then the old bakelte ring.)

Now, whether to leave the loading caps out all together ...
