Just in case you guys keep your L-96's close to the ground..look!

I find this so much better, on some stout Sound Anchor stands...It opened up the sound, and the bass has so much more definition,,,the floor was unnaturally reinforcing some freq. I didnt authorize...

    Next comes the sand filling/

JBL sold a whole range of stands way back when the L96 and L112 were available.

Your Sound Anchor stands look up to the task.

Before I had them on some JBL stands, that were about 6" high, and tilted a few degress..

    L-96's/stands/grilles

Hey whitese... gordon thought you might pop
    up here

I have an L-96 pair I'm resuscitating... currently
setting on top of L-150A's... can vouch that this
is -way- too high (but they're out of way).

Somewhere just over 24" off the floor sounded
balanced to me (not too far off from your photo...
    nice/clean L-96's BTW).

Have a favor to ask...my L-96's came sans grilles
and have cut out and fit a new set of frames, but
don't have adequate info regarding the chamfer
angles top/bottom and sides, or the reveal left
after cutting the chamfers (guessing ~1/8"). If you
have any grill photos or are able/willing to make
measurements, my L-96's and I would be
    grateful.

    Thanks,

    -grumpy
