What's In A Name? or Name My HT

I'm about to decommission the Two Jims Theatre, and since the new set up won't have any Jim Fosgate gear in it anymore, I can't really reuse the name. The Fosgate Audionics pre/pro, amps, and subs will give way to pure JBL Synthesis®. The One Jim Theatre doesn't cut it.

So, I'm trying to think of some possible names.

This thread is where you can put any suggestions you have, serious or silly, sober or salacious. Give it your best shot.

    Ti D,

    How about "Jim's Cinema Synthetique"?

Each S4Ai has three--count 'em--three Ti dome tweeters in an EOS waveguide, so there'll still be 12 Ti domes along with the six horns (two horns in each SAM1HF unit). I mention this because I need the comfort of knowing it's not all horns all the time.

The Horny Dome Cinema? probably not.

Right now I think "The Dome of Silence" is appropriate.

Just kidding! But seriously, how about, "THUNDER DOME"

Like most large venues, you need a corporate sponsor. How 'bout:

UPS Claims Department presents: Beyond Thunderdome

    or:

The Alex Rodriguez Synthesized Testosterone Dome

I see you got it right off. Work in the multiple meanings of "asylum" and reveal what a twisted sort I really am.

So are you a classicist or a gamer? (Virgil or Lennie Moore?)

Don't give me too much credit...I'm more of a "stupid tricks with Google" -er.

Domus Ilium sounded like a fake Latin phrase
ala "I have a good fwend in Wome named..."

one <click>, Virgil pops up and all of a sudden, it's not so fake after all.

    "Twow him to the gwound."

I liked your unedited answer better... clever loses something in the translation.

I have never know any Latin, but I do remember when a Professor tired of the dusty offerings available to Latin students and translated Winnie The Pooh into the dead language. Stumped by the made up words, he added Latin endings to some. Heffalumpus!

    http://www.amazon.fr/Winnie-Ille-Pu-.../dp/1405205636

I think a Latin or Latin sounding name for the theater would be nice. Circus Heffalumpus, anyone? For you Life Of Brian fans, Caduceus Biggus Dickus...

Widget, I would rather be wise than clever, but I fear I am probably neither.

I am not really one for naming home theaters, however my first was based around a for free hand-me-down projector that had an unfortunate green splotch off to one side... we all called it "Green Splotch Theater"... the name stuck. Even after that projector had been retired and an excellent one replaced it, my friends would still call up and ask "What's playing tonight at the Green Splotch?"

Good luck in your quest for a name... hopefully we'll see some progress on the actual venue over the coming months.
