605B Diaphragm

Well it´s been a long since I wrote the last time here. Now I am more inspired and more into the audio-mood, I finally built a pair of cabinets for my 605B's the result is amazing, I would post photos later.

I also changed my crossover, I followed Jeff Markwart's design, the improvement vs the N-1500A is surprising. http://home.earthlink.net/~jmarkwart/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/605a_br....

I only had a problem, my diaphragms are diferent from eachother one is the 20275 aluminium voice coil installed on 604 and early 605 and the other is the 34852 copper voice coil used in the later 605 production.

Does anyone knows why did altec changed the diaphragm..is one better than the other. I am ready to place an order to GPA.

I will match both drivers with the copper one..this one sounds more "easy", has less highmids and a higher treeble response.

Hope someone can give me an advice.
