    Need help packing speakers

Hi, I need some advice on shipping some speakers. They are very heavy woofers and the surrounds are pretty much gone and not really supporting the cone at all, so how can I protect against voice coil rub?

    Thanks a ton...

Guessing you'll get a few diverging opinions... here's one:

bolt driver face down to plywood, same size as box interior.
loose plastic wrap over that... add filling to move some plastic
wrap toward the speaker to limit in/out motion somewhat, but
not enough to deform cone. 1 1/2-2" of -dense- styrofoam,
on the magnet, double layer of cardboard (same shape as plywood)
over that. Tape up box, put inside another box w/ 1-2" foam all around.

There's a thread here somewhere that shows essentially that
process. The loose cone does make it more difficult.

Thanks for the tips. I can't think of anything better at the moment so I'll give that a try.
