I have a pair of LE10H-1 with cracked old surrounds which I would like to convert to midrange model 2012H. Then I could get much more out of the JBL speaker "LE10", not as bass driver but as a low mid, or high bass driver to fit to my 4 way active loudspeaker system.
The reason for choosing 2012 is mostly because this models re-cone-kit is much cheaper than the 2123.

Is this a hopeless idea ?

This idea popped up when searching for used 2123H and/or 2012H speakers. It was then I discovered that my LE10īs surrounds had becomed stiff and brittle. This was not so good when my the intention was to sell them to get new or used midranges.
Iīm very grateful for answering
