    Red face A7 Cabinet

First time to Altec, My question is My dad gave me his Altec capistrano Speakers which contains a H811B Horn and A 803B Woofer along with a N-800E Dividing Network. I want to Build the A7 cabinet, Do I need to cross phase the 811 horn like the instructions say to. Reason I am asking is the wiring diagram say for the dividing network I have it never shows them reversed.

    Thank you

Depends on where the horn is...

    in regards to the woofer.

If they are on the same baffle front it goes one way, if the A7 is used the polarity is reversed since the voice coils are in the same plane.

With a bass reflex, the voice coils are not in the plane.

Kind of hard to explain in simple terms here. Follow the instructions on your crossover for the application that you end up with.

Hope this kind of helps you out!

The Horn is placed on the inside section of the A7.

    Thank you for the reply.
