Please help me to figure something out....

I'm about to buy a pair of JBL L300.
The guy who selling them replaced the diaphragms in the 077s with original JBL's (the D16 type), when I asked him about the impedance difference (the original diaphragms were 8 ohm and the new are 16) he said that technically (and electrically) there are no difference and the important issue is their thickness. I would like to know if this is true and where can I read something about it.

The diaphragm in question should be part number D16R2405 which is the correct diaphragm for your 077...which in essence is the equivalent of the pro version 2405.

If this is what was done, you're fine.

The 075/2402 takes the D8R075 diaphragm which is slightly thicker for lower crossover points, and slightly higher power handling.
