The 2020H also looks interesting looking at the specs.
The 3rd order distortions are very low, and the sensitivity is around 95dB at 100Hz, similar to the 2206H. But then you have to compensate for the rising response (~100dB at 500Hz)

I think that TimG used it in his system. Any feedback on this driver?

I've been using the 2206s successfully in a few vented cabs .....not sure it is a good idea to place them in a sealed box, thou.

    2206 in a vented box

    Hi

Thank you for your mail Robert. Please tell me, what will be the best ported box for the 2206 at a crossoverpoint at 63 Hz. I' ve tried some crossoverpoints for my 2235 (63, 80 and 100 Hz, all 18 dB/oct) ans I think, 63 Hz is still the best. Maby it has something to do with my small listening room. It's only 4m x 4,15m.

    Thanks for answers, greetings Aktivkampi

....I have a pair of 2206s in 5 square foot boxes, and another housed in an old JBL L100 bookself cab...

...others here are more qualified than me to help you with box size and crossover points...

    Hi Maxwedge,

Could you please elaborate on what you prefer about the 2206?
Did you change the EQ or anything else when replacing the driver?

I was able to lower the crossover point from approx 300hz to 160hz using the 2206 over the 2202 and you can run it lower if you port the box. I have it in a sealed box and have 2242s tuned to 30hz on the bottom.

I think the 2206 sounds clearer in my opinion and besides that, it'll handle a bunch more power!

At the time I posted this on recollection without checking; it's wrong. They actually recommend a vented box of that volume tuned to 37-38 Hz.

    Hi Richard Long

The D.A.S M 401 is no JBL product, D.A.S is a spanish manufacture, who started copying JBL products I think in the early 70's. The M 401 has the same size and weight as a 2440 and uses also an alnico motor. The original diaphragm is also build from aluminium and features no diamond pattern. I'm using this driver for about ten years and checked it out with an 2440 from a friend of me. I (we) couldn't hear any difference..... D.A.S is very hard to find in Germany, specially the older parts. I've seen the auction on ebay and I must say, if you are the one who gets it for that price, you could be very lucky !!!!!

    greetings Aktivkampi
