I just got one myself. Received it on 4/1/09, bought from OneCall. I'm not into home theater just plain old good sounding stereo. I reminds me of my old Sansui 8080, a powerhouse. Unfortunately my 8080 died in 1995 and I could not find a place to get it repaired so at the time and due to money limitations, I replaced it with a Pioneer SX-253r. It could not produce the same sound out of my L100's that the Sansui could. When one of my L100's started acting up, I bought a pair of Axiom M3 v2's which sounded good through the Pioneer but have really come alive with the 3490. Now if I can only get the L100's up and going again. They probably need new crossovers but replacing them is beyond my scope of expertise. I may look into getting a new pair of towers but what I don't know. There are hardly any audio stores anymore to go and hear speakers at.
