    Graph of woffs

Though you may get a kick out of this. Here is room responce of (corner of room) Blue Is stock L300. Green is 2235h in the L300 cabnet. Blue is 4320 with 2215 driver. One system.

Believe it or not I got this room responce to Plus or minus 2 db from 25 to 15K with mono 31 band eq's.

    Cool!

"Believe it or not I got this room responce to Plus or minus 2 db from 25 to 15K with mono 31 band eq's."

Yeah I believe it. Why the corner placement though? Room restrictions?

    What EQ are you using?

Ya thats a pretty freaky room responce. The left speaker was in the corner right was out in the open. So the left needed more eq and triggered room overlaod then the right side didnt. So it never is correct. This house is Stucco walls 3/4 solid cement then insulation then 3/4 chalk board thats it. Thats a old graph from another house. The eq that tamed that responce was a Yahmaha 31 band dual mono. 800.00. I also tryed a crown eq-2 (not enough bands). With a room responce like that high end is not obtainable really. I could trigger Bass doubling like crazy after 85 db or so. Whats intresing in the graph is the diffrence in Lf drivers there is 2215, 2235H, 136.

Your graph is interesting, but I do have a few questions.
What bass driver was in the stock L300? Why did the L300 with the 2235 in it show a different response above 3K? How can you explain the dip at 160Hz with the 2215? And finally, can you explain the hudge dip at the crossover freq of 800Hz on both the 2215 and the 2235?
    Thanks,

    Tom

The only thing was this was taken from a pink noise cd then measured from a simpson slp meter with mike. Not a spectrum analizer. So there might tbe some mistakes. The stock driver was the 136 woof (small magnet). All these drivers have an unknown history other than being proper cones ect. The 2215 was freshly refoamed. Both 136 got recones after this as well as the 2235H. If something is crazy out of line it might be i was a frequency or 2 off. But that graph is something of value. There are many fixes for that I know. I run my monitors 4 feet out from the wall now, have bass trapps in the corners sound anchor stands on everything. Believe it or not i donot run any EQ on the new system

By only looking at your plot and knowing that the woofer to mid crossover is at 800Hz my first guess would be that the large dip at 800Hz would be caused by polarity reversal of the woofer.

I don't suppose that might have been a possibility?

    Polarity

No polarity was correct. Imaging would have been amuck if not. Here is the 2215 vs 2235H in 4320 cabnet. The arrows indiactes severe doubling at that frequency. someware is the 4350 colection 2235H 2215 136 145/reconed at 2235H ect

    MikeM,
These last charts make the 2215 look pretty good! My 4320 came with 2215s that needed re-coning, so I went for a pair of 2231s. They sound great, but maybe getting the 2215s re-coned isn't a bad idea after all.
Thanks for your efforts. It's always good to find a place where you can learn something.
