does anybody try to use a (new) toilet ceramic as a horn for mids.
I can imagine a good 4" mid speaker fitted to the drain....
    Maybe sound fine.....

That horn does look remarkably similar to some of todays fancy toilet seats!

    such a "waste".

    nice E145s, and mid-horns pointed 30deg to
    the ceiling.

Maybe if you turned them on their sides and
    swapped out the bullets.

Unfortunately, you'll probably have to take them out of someone's Everests.

That horn also appeard in a system called Defined coverage loudspeaker system 4660. And used with a 2425 hf & a 2425 woofer.

where to find the Everest mid horn...

    Maron,

2346 Defined Coverage horn, as noted, was
used in the obsolete 4660/4660A. (A suffix gets
you 2426J and 2226HPL drivers). Sometimes
you can find them used (usually having seen church duty) at sound reinforcement companies.
Note the weight if you find some and need 'em
    shipped.

Thanks to the forum, I now have an idea of what this is. I have been looking at this odd device hanging from an atrium at the University of Houston, Clear Lake campus, for over fifteen years. But, since they have a 2445? on a 2380 (old style) horn, what do you suppose they have connected to the strange bidet-like horn? Incidentally, the 2380 is set back about a foot and I would think would be blocked by the main enclosure front edge. The system is arranged to cover the area below and to the front of the unit. The enclosure has a JBL logo on the grill cloth.

BTW, they have a couple Altec VOTT types on the main floor at a stage level.

And, Herve, I guess it has a 2425 or 2426 attached inside to the 2346 horn. The atrium has three levels so, I guess, the 2445/2380 is aiming for the upper regions where the enclosure woofer is aimed, while the 2425 points downward to the lowest areas. Starting to make sense. Thanks.
