250ti and 250 ti LE differencies

    Hi!
I know that there are differencies in the network and finish. But what about the drivers? Did the last set of 250 ti LE's for example use the 104H or maybe the 104H-3?

And is there such a big difference in sound that You should go for the 250 ti LE's only, since the price is about the same?

    Hello Jacob,

    Inside my 250ti LE's are 104H's installed.
The Highs're different to normal 250, for me the Sound is a little bit smoother then normal 035ti Transducer.
The Crossover Network in my LE's don't have Switcher for Mid/High.

    Hello Dieter

Is that a close-up on the L250TI tweeter?? Thats an 050 Gold. I use them in my XPL's and was wondering where else JBL used them besides the Century Gold. Very smooth tweeter.

Where do you find one (well 2) of these tweeters?

Ok, so they use the same midrange. But in the original 250 ti's I thought there were 044ti tweeters, and if Your LE-speakers uses the 050, then there is a difference. Or is Your version perhaps a LE Jubilee? Thanks for the info about the switches!

    250 Ti

JBL used the 035 Tia in the last 250TIBQ. They still used the 104-h in that speaker as well. This info is for the US version as I do not know about any of the others. The crossovers in the 250TIBQ has switches for HF and UHF. It does not have attenuation on the mid-bass(8") like the L250.

    Hi Jakob,

You're right, the first Version of 250ti's had the 044ti Tweeters.
Sorry, I've the last Jubilee Version, I thinked you mean this.
The Jubilee is without switches on Crossover.

This first LE Serie from 1990 had the 035ti Tweeters, but was also switchable
in Frequenz. You can look in Jbl/Library/Specs about this Serie.

    Regards
    Dieter

    Hello Shane

Found them on E-Bay. There were 8 up for sale I got 3 the other bidder got 5. They are real nice with cast metal mounting plates and large magnets. Had to have the baffle plates made for them but that was a snap. Seems the 050 was an offshore tweeter. I don't think any of the domestic product use them. If you look in the German brochure they where in the European TI line too.

    Hello Rob

    That's my 250ti/jubilee.
I think, they're nearly 5 years old now.
    Yes, very smooth Highs.

Was this Serie not available in the US?

    Very Nice Rob!!

    Those are pretty!!

They are probably very hard to find. I think I will try and find one of the LSR Ti's. They sound VERY good as well.

If you see this... Do you know the model # of the LSR Ti?

The 050 Gold shows as out of stock (and is probably NLA) in the U.S.

I kinda figured that it was NLA because of it being sort-of an obscure piece. Also anything that you have to get from Harman Int. verses JBL Pro is like getting a jackass to move when he does not want to!

Now getting parts from JBL Pro on the other hand is easy.
    Thanks Shane

I do hear where you are coming from but...

I was going to say "No Comment", then I remembered how damn fast Harman moved in getting Don a complete set of S9800 drivers along with an extra pair of 1500AL's for his little project at no cost and when they were all marked as "out of stock"... I also can't count the times Harman has come through for me when Pro couldn't. It all evens out over the years...
