Hey, Keith,
Nice job on you system!! Did you veneer it, or use hardwood ply, then stain? Looks great! How does it sound to you? What sort of performance are you getting out of it? Again, well done, Keith, and thanks for sharing it with us. Take care, and God Bless!

Hi Doc,
Thanks for your kind word.
After I saw this:

I started my project. jbl/Ron made a beautiful system. I wanted the same system.
I used Baltic Birch plywood and followed this to use walnut veneer:

Then nex step was oil finish. I followed this to use Watco oil finish:

I like this system very much. Sounds very nice.
Hello keith
They look really nice. I like the glass tops. Built in protection for parties.

Good job, well done!
What type of tweeter is that above the horn?
Kevin.
P.S. I used to live in B.C. years ago.

looks a lot like this:

JBL Pro for home use!
So which actual drivers and crossovers are you using? The cabinets came out really nice! 'Any chance of some audio measurements?
John
Components I used for this project are:
2 x 077 (mikey, thank you for the picture.)
2 x 2425J
2 x 2370A
2 x 2226H (John, thank you for these woofers.)
2 x 3106
2 x 3110A (John, these are from you, too.)
The system sounds very much clearer than any other system I have at home. It took me a while to adjust to obtain this sound. I get punchy LF and HF is just right for my ears. I can sit about 6 feet away and bring the volume louder without any discomfort. I have to worry about my hearing though.

Sheesh! 'Didn't tie your username to who I'd sold this stuff to - 'glad it's worked out OK. Ya' know- those would also be killer for a little PA, but with judicious setup, I imagine they work pretty well for Hi Fi. Maybe with just a slight tweak for VLF.
Again - 'way kool!
John
WOW! Looks Great!!!
Great job!!!
I agree with John, they would make a killer little dance floor speaker box. About 8 of them around the room with a bunch of double subs for a little get-go!
What about sending me those 2226's and I will send you some 2235's and you will have a mini pair of L300's? What do ya' think?
An outstanding job!
Please post the HxWxL measurements.
Enjoy!
Scotty.

Hi Scott and John,
When I was planning this project, 2235H was my first choice of components. But I soon realized it is hard to find them.
I wanted to finish the project before the end of summer any way as Canadian summer is short and my hobby room is open garage. I found 2226H at this forum. John, thank you.
My plan was to look for 2235H while I am enjoying the sound of 2226H.
I did not expect to find 2235H this quick.
Scott, I will take your offer and I will send you PM later tonight as I am still at work.
Keith
The size is "crossover" of 4507 and 4338.
4507 (H x W x D): 30.5 x 21.5 x 17.63 inch
4338 (H x W x D): 36.26 x 21.61 x 14.76 inch
My system (H x W x D): 36.26 x 21.5 x 15.75 inch
Based on this informatin: http://www.audioheritage.org/vbullet...2&postcount=19
The each panel thicknes and port length are followed.
Internal volume is easily calculated. The volume of 2370A was subtracted from the total.
I tried to keep the internal volume close to 5 cubic feet by shortening the depth.
