    Noob Question

In the late 70's I purchased a set of 4311B's. They had another set of JBL's in the store, as I remember they had 14 inch woofers and a glass or marble top, and lotsa bass.

Could anyone tell me what speakers these were ?

I'm thinkng they were more expensive than the 4311's also, but I still remember the sound and would like to find some.

    Thanks

Don’t tell Dolly, has taken to the bottle now! LOL Evening Heather.
The glass ones have the genuine JBL logo on it. How much would that cost to get glass etched with the JBL logo?

If they have marble tops they're Dorians and if glass they're L55's and no they're not etched...the badge is under the glass.
    Nice kitty!

Marble seems to have stuck in my head, they very well coulda been glass though.
So, that would be a L55 Dorian ? I seem to remember a rather booomy bass too. I liked it then

The "Dorian" was model C56. The Lancer 101 was basically a C56 Dorian with a premium component package (LE14A, LE175DLH and LX10) and the lattice grilles. It looks like JBL discontinued the Lancer 101 around 1975. I'm putting my money on the speaker in question is a Lancer 55.
