How much power is that Carver amp?

I have a friend who switched from a PSA-2 to a Carver 1.5t, and SWEARS it is better.

    the answer

Use a crown M600 / delta omega / 7560 / etc monoblock ( same amp chassis ) for about 1400 into 4 ohms with a TON of power supply reserve. I have that amp / speaker combo in the shop and it will kill rodents at 50 yards and dry clean pants too.

There is one on ebay for 800 bux but 100lbs across the continent and border will cost you...but I am a lot closer..and have 12 of them...

The carvers store *nothing* in the supply and have the damping factor of a wet noodle...

    BTW the 6260 is 200/ch into 8

    sub

no CBGB's, I ain't got time for that now...

    Unhappy

I dig Crown, I LIKE the M600, THAT will drive a pair of 2241 with ease, I agree.

Carver? I went under the assumption Alnico has one, and I DO have a friend that for some reason, prefers its sound to the Crown PSA-2. I think maybe because its easier to drive than the PSA-2. Different input sensitivities.

Damping factor, WELL I CANT ARGUE ANYTHING THERE, CROWN HAS ALWAYS BEEN KNOWN FOR THEIR high DAMPING factors!

I vote for a M600 Crown! Or a Crown Delta Omega.

We had some carver 1.5's for the monitor rig with a Soundcraft 6000 40x12. The carver kept puking on themselves! It was embarrassing! The monitor engineers said they were okay on the rider, but when showtime came...the carvers were gone! Crown 24x6 took their place.

    "Crown, definitely..definitely crown,...yea"

    Just $.02

I misstated the spec, actually. Not bridged mono, just stereo, i.e., 150W per channel into 8 Ohms, 2.5 X what I said.

I guess we call that 300W total, but I never cranked it to that, more like, uhmmm, 60W/channel, maybe.

    What's my secret?

    I'm NOT running a bumper-car disco here.

    Do I have bigger amps?

Yah, so what? They have fans....
