I believe so...that's how it works on other models. Perhas some others will chime in to confirm it in the case of the L65.

The "A" designates a version of the L65 with a different woofer, crossover and baffle layout, which make it an L65A.

I thought so. Just as the L220A has the updated LE14H LF driver, the L150A a different tweeter, etc.

Just took the woofer out and it's a 122A, I don't see any markings on the Xover, is that enough to determine it's an L65A???

Should have the N65A network in it according to the tech sheet. Which will have a 2mH coil in series with the woofer and 13.5 uF and 4 uF capacitors in the midrange crossover section.

Yes, if it's the original woofer. But look the rest of the speaker over carefully to make sure it is not a 166

So, I have an "A" on the front panel, the 122A woofer and the "twist lock" binding posts. That's enough evidence for me. I guess have the JBL L65A.
P.S., Has anyone ever seen or heard of Ivory or White colored grills, that's what I have, don't know if they are original, From what I read, they only come in brown, black and red.?????

    "A" isn't always twist-lock

I've got L36A & L166A with spring-loaded posts. Both also have black-logo foilcals from Casitas(?) Ave.
I've seen pictures online of both models with orange-logo foilcals from Northridge, and they had twist-locks.
