Do you think water is not good maybe it would like milk but I was told only water for now, I just wait it to have a few laps of water “it” must be trusty by now because it been nearly 7 hours since I left the owners home, well we and another neighbour took a walk over to his flat, which is directly in line-a-view with my side window and he has two cats. The carpet is got cat fur all over it I mean cat fur!!! I said when my dad gets back from Italy, I’ll ask my dad if he has the wash and vac because the carpet is in dire need of clean I mean a BIG CLEAN!

Its having a lap sleep on the desk right now the room is quite, only the washing machine is on, cleaning my jumper as I had a few dogs jumping on me this afternoon, I have some other pictures of the other kittens.

Pictures below are the cat owners home not, the chap that lives across the road.

Don’t worry about me guys I keep the flat clean I sweep floor and vacuum at least three times a week due to my skin conduction. But this other neighbour across the road, same layout of the flat as mine but the carpet, and the kitchen oh, my god if I could have taken a picture Heather you would pass out! I mean it was minging it stank it was pen and ink LOL I mean I had to hold my breath, it made my eyes water a little bit when the door was opened.

Hey I’m a little tolerant to some things but I need a breathing mask, I’m not sure if the guy takes a regular bath, he’s okay, just a little untidily. There was flies I mean LOL yuck! At least 30 or 40 files buzzing around I’m not joking with you lot, files and that is just fealty and I mentioned it to the guy and he said something like “oh they don’t bother me” I noticed one fly was squatted splat on the side of the door frame.

Oh, Heather dear, you’d just faint you would, the kitchen was a mess I mean I don’t know how the cats even put up with the smell, but it was unclean.

I may not have carpet down in my flat right now, but I sure as hell keep it clean and I wash my cloths and take regular baths brush my teeth comb my hair…

I’m not sure what the council would say if they entered the flat because you can smell it on the first floor. I need to run a bath now I’m taking a late night bath and I’ll be back, kitty is chilled, having a lap or sleep on the desk a boil of water next to “it” if “it” wants a drink, but I have to warm up the water for the bath. Because I kinder feel sick walking into someone else home and finding flies buzzing around, that is just plain dirty.

I did like the black and white kittens one had black face but it was the black cat that came to me, while I made some soft cat meow sounds, I suck the sound inwards and make the sound at the back of my throat and it sounds like a cat meow, I get a little dry throated when I do that, LOL but the kitten looked up at me, LOL.

So I choice the black kitten, might be good luck, who knows?

Just wait for the water tank to warm up at the moment which will take another 30 minutes. Flipping 12:52am in the morning. I’d have to show my dad my kitten, I know he doesn’t like cats too much.

I think the kitten is dreaming? I can see slight stutters and mild purring. I guess it takes man more weeks until they start actively walking about, exploring and so forth.

    Latest kitten update!

Well that feels better I placed the kitten on the floor to wonder around while I took a bath and it was exploring and found a new toy to play with, my old pair of shoes I guess that will work.

Place kitty back on the desk with the kitten food next to the water boil and kitty food that comes in packets and, whoa having another nipple. Keeps looking keyboard and meowing, not sure if its feeling lonely or missing the other kittens or its mother or other??

I’ve also blocked off one of the lower ports on the JBL 4645 because of the size of the kitten, I don’t want it crawling inside the sub. I’ll have to place it room other than the living room when I go out I don’t what it getting into trouble, I have enough kitten food to last till I go shopping again. Oh, its just having lap on the desk again.

I’ll have to make sure the flat is safe for the kitten to wonder about, make sure the door on the washing machine is closed make sure the windows are only open where the latch locks for ventilation make sure its got water and food when I go out.

Well, some folks are really bad about cats and cleanliness - I've been in apartments like you describe - the ammonia smell from the cat urine can be real intense - ugh! Gotta change the cat box regularly!

Anyway - make up a basket for the little kitty with an old towel or something s/he can curl up in and stay warm. Give her fresh water at least once a day - and cats get bladder/kidney problems pretty easy. Clean, bottled/filtered water is better for them if possible.

We don't let our 2 cats out to roam freely. Sometimes we'll carry Teddy out and set him on the bench in our backyard next to us when we go sit by the pond, but we don't let him on the ground (except maybe winter)
Dolly doesn't like it outside and wants to stay in.
Leather doesn't attract cat hair - even when Dolly sleeps on an armrest (she hates the flash!)

    Good names regardless of gender

A kitten needs a name to get accustomed to. If you don't know the gender there are human names that cross genders and descriptive names that don't have gender.

    A few dual-gender human names:
    Pat
    Kelly
    Jordan
    Kim
    Charley

A few descriptive names (I went with a dark theme):
    Midnight
    Coffee
    Ink Spot
    Charcoal
    Soot
    Dark Bliss (hey, an oxymoron!)
Black Heart of Satan (ok, maybe that's pushing it)

If it turns to be a girl, I'd say you gotta name it Enya for this thread. Her hair is dark black.

If it's a boy, name it Douglas, after me, which of course means "dark water" in Scottish. That's the reflection he'll see everytime he drinks.
    Out.

Time-out, time-out so that was, smelling over their! It was minging! My kitten took a little pee this morning I noticed the watery liquid on the floor, went to the kitchen as this in the bedroom, next to box on the floor. Gapped some kitchen towels a plastic bag to place the towels in, dried it right up!!!!!

Stocked kitten because it was excited maybe, because it, had good nights sleep and I placed a cover on top of box and placed kitty, thou I’m calling it, (Sooty) for now until I find out if it’s a male or female??

Its mostly have a kitten nap at the moment I guess that’s what kittens do when their young is sleep eat pee, poo, and no hasn’t yet I really need to get some (odorless kitty litter) that is what a friend recommend over the phone this afternoon.

He said I can take it too cat protection and get it shots wormed fled etc, etc for a small contribution, to the organisation.

Okay so a type of filter pump that fits to the cold water supply is good no?

Mine seems too like the camera flash, thou it don’t appear to bother Sooty as of yet. Just sleeps as far as I’ve noticed so far, doesn’t seem to mind Eyna “Shepard Moon” playing very softly in the background, got the living room, window opened and cleaned around the kitchen bathroom vacuumed up any dust and hairs or cobwebs etc, etc.

This is what this guy over the road doesn’t appear to do at all by the looks of it. I have friend that has his son’s cat Mongo a tabby grinder, tom cat and he keeps the house clean I mean clean.

The guy over the road had dirty newspapers on the kitchen work-tops I mean I was too scared to even go right inside the kitchen. I could swear I saw him use the same bath towel to rub the dogs down last night as I mentioned (don’t you what to dry the dogs off there wet) and he got a towel and rub them the down and once inside I saw him use the same towel to dry his hair with,

Sooty having afternoon meal top picture bottom picture having a lap in the JBL room box placed on the sofa with warm blanket curled up into a ball and getting 100 winks.

oh wouldn’t that be a laugh it turns out to be female cat. Good one Dome.I would I would take that, wtf someone’s car alarm keeps going off outside, its not worrying the kitten fast a sleep!

Yes that would be sweet name indeed, I like that one and the above names under consideration.

I’ll call the Cat Protection in morning since cats is their business and make an appointment to bring the kitten over, nearest I can think of is Charmisnter road near to where I used to live last year. But I seem to remember my friend telling me, over the phone they had a Cat Protection nearer to where I live thou a short distance, Castle Lane, so I’ll have look at the Google and see what the deal is.

    Edit:
Well here’s the Cat Protection site established 80 years ago. I’m looking over the sites main page at the moment.
    http://www.cats.org.uk/

    Edit:2
Well there seems to be quite a lot of information from (neuter, vaccinate and microchip) etc, etc I can see why so many cats go missing these days “microchip your cat” now that will work.

Heather, by the way, what is that on top of the JBL 43 series on the right hand side is that an amplifier and a passive crossover network as well? I don’t remember seeing that their last time, I know you move items around from time to time, I know that’s the other centre channel and not the resent new one that you brought recently, or am I going dotty!

Dolly doesn’t seem to mind the level of music, seems fast a sleep on the armrest.

Heather are you training the cats to actually attack the JBL speakers, what is that on the left hand side, that I sure as hell don’t remember seeing their before I’ve got a good memory well reasonable memory. That’s going to defuse the high frequencies or send them off in different direction rather at you, at the listening position.

Found this interesting cat fact in the FAQ on the Cat Protection site.

Why do cats sleep all the time?

In their wild or feral state, cats need to spend a good proportion of their time hunting in order to catch enough food. Because the cat hunts alone, it only has itself to rely on to find enough food to survive, so has to keep going until it is successful. Hunting tends to take place when the natural prey species of the cat (small rodents) are active, which is mostly late in the evening and early in the morning. Because hunting is hard work for cats, they will tend to rest and sleep for much of the rest of the day to conserve energy. It often seems to us that our cats sleep a lot because they sleep during the day when we are up!

There are also differences in sleeping habits between individual cats: some cats are very inactive and will rest for a large proportion of the day and night. This particularly occurs when their activity patterns are inhibited in some way: for example indoor cats that do not have an adequately enriched environment may become very inactive.

The thing on the left side beside the speaker is the climbing post - they can climb on that instead of climbing on the grill cloth! They can also stand up on it and look out the window there.
The right side speaker has a Harman Kardon Citation 22 Amp that feeds the two subs in the room (B-380 on the right and the MK Volkswoofer without a plate amp at the corner of the two sofas) . The thing on top of it is a patch panel I made for it, as the Citation 22 has weirdo oversize "Banana jack" like things that I don't like, and I have banana jacks on all my speaker leads now. So, I have permanent jumpers from the C-22 to the patch panel where I make the permanent connections to the subs.

I first ran it in bridged mono mode for the B-380 (2235 woofer) but after hearing the speaker bang the mass ring a few times during movies, I figured it was too much power, so I dropped it to stereo mode, feed both inputs from the LFE channel of my receiver, and let the Citation feed the subs in "stereo" mode.

Its powered down right now, so you don't see the peak level lights blinkin ...
I don't run it during stereo music (CDs, FM or LPs), only for multichannel media like movies, TV, and SACDs and such.

Well blimey Tom, has enough banana plugs to sink a battle ship. A friend just popped around as he has a cat called Mongo and gave me (a bag of kitty litter) and (flea collar) it doesn’t fit LOL. His 5 year old daughter wanted to she the kitten her eye lit up and she didn’t want to leave LOL guess she wants one as well.

I see running it in stereo mode only sending the same signal to each and only the LFE.1 track only, no bass manger mode set to the subs just the LFE.1 track, because those large 43 can handle the lows on left and right, it’s the centre that needs to have same equal frequency response and best with the surround as same equal frequency response.

I don’t use any bass manger for the surrounds I have each of the three channels on its own EQ so I can trim off the extreme low end, while its sub bass output from the additional decoder to do the centre back surround as and when its needed, but all the sub low end from surrounds gets diverted to the small sub bass up front, along with the LCR extreme low end.

The LFE.1 track gets sent to the JBL and only becomes active when Superman pushes the rocket outwards into space, then KABOOM the LCRS give slight jolt, if the LCRS sub was turned off or the channels that feed it switched off at the mixer end, with just the LFE.1 track playing it really is give away because it seems like the other JBL don’t have the edge in the low end.

that is true there small and only good enough for bass that is around 50Hz best 60Hz upwards LCR the tiny control 1 can only manage a slight bit below there operating range only tiny amount, but can play loud up to +100dbc.

I’m surprised the Sooty is immune to Superman the movie paying around “it” still not sure if it’s male or female my friend had a look and he couldn’t tell ether LOL.

Joined a cat forum last night called http://www.i-love-cats.com/forums/ I doubt the cat gets much to say unless it happens to tap a few keys on the keyboard at random.

It’s a bit quite over on the site kinder like this site at times.

looked up a phone number for Cat Protection, but the answering machine I don’t like answering phone machines too much, so I’ll leave it till morning, I was shattered today I was up till late last night.

The kitten and I have had a nap or two, but its still not drinking any water? It’s eating and it’s used the kitty litter without my attention, so I hope it remembers from time to time.

At the present moments it’s just having a nap on its bed on the sofa while Enya plays in stereo. I found a box to transport the cat in until I buy a proper cat box, yes its one of the JBL control 1 boxes that I keep in the store cupboard and how appropriate it already has its own carrying handle. Thanks JBL I never knew I’d be using a speaker box one day to transport a cat around.

I also used the soft packing and placed a few more layers on the bottom of the box with one part of the polystyrene turned upside down so it provides a smooth surface and the soft packing laying on it, should be good enough for temporary travel, until I get a proper cat box.

    Heather

Now I know why your training them to jump I’ve just read their dossier.

The New York Times (Sunday Styles section) printed it,
    so it MUST BE TRUE

    http://www.slate.com/id/2201764/
Trend of the Week: Dudes With Cats

The New York Times' Sunday Styles section detects a new craze.

    By Jack Shafer
Posted Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at 2:59 PM ET

That moment arrived last Sunday (Oct. 5) in "Sorry, Fido, It's Just a Guy Thing,"in which writer Abby Ellin revealed that more and more guys—single, straight guys!—are digging pussycats. Here's the nut graf:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/05/fa...in&oref=slogin

Mr. Fulrath is one of a growing number of single — and yes, heterosexual — men who seem to be coming out of the cat closet and unabashedly embracing their feline side. To that end, they are posting photographs and videos of their little buddies on YouTube and on Web sites like menandcats.com, and Twittering about them to anyone who will listen.

    - back to the Slate review of the NY Times article ...
Ellin argues against her thesis—such as it is—when she catalogues a number of famous guys who have owned cats: Ernest Hemingway, Mark Twain, Victor Hugo, and Marlon Brando. But why stop there? The Ruling Cats and Dogs Web site alleges that Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln, Nostradamus, Edward Lear, Sir Walter Scott, Isaac Newton, and Michel de Montaigne loved cats. I cannot vouch for the scholarship behind CitizenLunchBox's list of celebrities-who-owned-cats, but more than half of them were males, and I'd guess that most were straight, if not single.

Heather does Teddy and Dolly every get hyperactive because I can’t control my kitten Sooty the fucking thing is ether on dugs something to do with the Whiskers kitten food or maybe the fact that it hasn’t drank any water and I’ve even tried Whiskers kitten milk which it was just feel into.

It was playing around my feet with my sleepers while I was eating and I moved my right leg and the cat was startled runs backwards and sideways and put its feet in the milk bowl LOL.

I guess it had no chose but to lick itself clean. Its on the desk with wet tail as it went right in the milk! And the little fucker keeps biting me, after all I feed everyday and I think because it hasn’t had anything to drink its become delusional and weird?
