    Question Basshorn

    Hi Guys,

Who know's the Designer(Company) of this Horn Enclosure?
The Name here in Europe was Shearer Horn.
Which 15inch Jbl Speakers're recommend for this.
It's now loaded with two old 15inch Gauss.
    What's with 2226H?

Maybe Scotty can tell me something?

    Thanks
    Dieter

That's what is called the Shearer Horn by most sites. I'm not too sure if it's the same as the one from Lansing. Here's the plans for it:

    (Both from: http://www.mcsoundlight.com/horn.htm)

The Shearer Horn is the most Brutal Unit I ever heard.

I once owned one. It was the 2 x 15" version. The Sound pressure was not from this world. It went easily down to 25 Hz.

    WOW!

That cabinet is very similar to the club classic Bertha cabinet and yes it does have a HUMONGOUS punch at extremely high output levels.

The Gauss woofers probably work very well in that box, but I am not sure about using the JBL 2226 in that type of cabinet! Generally speaking, the straight sided, deeper angled type of cone with a pleated accordion edge work better in these cabinets. Look into a suitable Eminence driver for this cabinet, I think that would work well.

    I LOVE BASSHORNS!

Yes much Sound Pressure in the deep Bass Section and very punchy.
