    Differences 2225 vs 2226?

I have a couple sets of each and the differences appear to be that (1) the 2225 has a heavier stiffer cone and (2) the 2225 has a single vent - not the 3 air cooling vents.

Are there any other structural design differences between the two drivers?

    Thx..

This document explains the exact differences between the speakers you mention: http://www.jblpro.com/pub/technote/tn_v1n18.pdf

2226H is newer/better, but read why.

Edit: I guess if you're wanting to use a 2225 as a source for a 2235, "newer/better" is subjective... 'good point...

One great difference (to me, anyway)is that the 2225H has the exact same motor as 2235H, and a recone ( with 2235H cone of course ) gives you essentially factory fresh 2235H.. If you may ever have use of that driver, that flexibility may be found useful. If not I guess it depends on intended use, and if you need the extra power handling. Otherwise I would think they are basically designed similarly, the 2226H being the more modern "model" as I understand it anyway.

    Broken link to Tech note

I thought it might be helpful to relink and attach a copy of this very useful and insightful tech note.
    https://jblpro.com/en/site_elements/...cy-transducers

I recently watched Erin's test of the 4367 which ended up being the lowest compression system he's tested to date and this tech note helps explain this capability, albeit that system uses a different woofer.

To me this note show's the technical excellence in JBL transducer design.
