    Anybody Remember the Brand Name?

I am trying to recall the name of a brand of speakers that was manufactured in the late 60's early 70's that used a feedback system. Some sort of electronic device in the speaker monitored the woofer movement and sent a signal back to the amplifier to correct the output of the amp and control the woofer movement. My memory just does not want to recall it.

As did Infinity with the bass components of the SS-1 models and on down the line.

Yes, they do! And they do it, very, very well. Starting with the HGS series and now the Direct Drive series, I found them to be very agile across the LF frequencies.

Didn't the Polk SDA series claim to have some type of wave cancelling gizmo?

I think there was a special cable that attached to each speaker pair.

Just reread the question. The Polks are definitely NOT what you are trying to ID.

Infinity Servo Static used, as the name implies, servo controled bass and electrostatic mid/hi. I think it came out in the late 1960's.

Electro voice had some speakers that were motion feed back controlled, I don't remember what the EV called them. John

    Lewis Erath?

Can't remember the exact name, but remember the systems you are referring to.

He had a special crossover with feedback to the amp which corrected imperfections with the speakers.

He had a article in speaker builder, but can't remember which one it was in.

The system in SB had a 15" driver and Altec 1.4" driver on a large format Altec sectoral horn.

Maybe someone can research older SB mags to find it. Most of mine are gone anymore.

You'r right, Ron, LWE loudspeakers. I thought they were very innovative at the time. No money to buy them back then.
