    Altec 515 20 ohm 15" cone numbers

    Hi there,

I am trying to locate a pair of original 20 ohm Altec 515 woofers. One of the problems with these old drivers is that they have often been reconed with parts of unknown origin. My problem is compounded by the fact that I do not know the correct original numbers in order to check. Can anyone tell me what the original cone kit number is, as well as the genuine Altec recone kit cone number? many thanks!

Sure! Go to GPA, Great Plains Audio out in OKC.

The owner, Bill, used to work at Altec and bought a bunch of the original equipment from the old plant. He is the one who keeps many of us Altec fans up and running and he is a stand up guy.

You will get much further by calling him on the phone then you ever will by email. 405-789-0221, I'm sure he will have more answers then you have questions.
