Rescue it if it speaks to you. The Radiance Series are not worth much to collectors and their performance level isn't remarkable.

    R103

I wasn't thinking for myself. I just wanted to let folks know, in case it was worth saving ! I just built a pair of " U - PEE " two - ways for my brother, and I have my JBL two - ways with the LE14A and LE85 . However, the LE85s need new diaphragms !!!

Those LE85/2420 diaphragms are no longer made but the improved 2421s are still available. When Bo replaced his it really improved the sound. The down side is they are very pricey. You can opt for titanium after market diaphragms, but they won't be as smooth sounding as the 2421s.

    LE 85 Diaphragms :

Well , the speakers are not proper without them ; ( using a pair of Parts Express 1 1/8" Silk Domes , just so I won't be out of music ! ) But, I must get them propery repaired. So, how much DO they cost, and where do I get them ? ( The best ones. ) DVW

For the LE85 you need the 2421B (16 ohm) diaphragm. They cost $244 each from Orange County Speaker repair.

You may be able to find them locally, but diaphragms are small and light weight so freight won't be a big deal. Many authorized JBL repair facilities will not sell you the diaphragms by themselves. On the other hand many will install them at no charge as it it only a five minute procedure. Contact JBL Pro and ask who is available in your area.

    Good luck,

The " official " JBL repair facility in the area is : " Price Stevenson
Acoustic Research " in Downingtown, PA. Also, but not on the official list, is " Clear Sound " in Yeadon, PA.
Anyone have any feeling about either one ; good or bad ??

By the way, is considered not Kosher to mention my own items for sale? I'm considering selling my L100s via ebay...

LE25-2 tweeters will sell for ~$40/pair on eBay depending on condition.
