    2310 lens or sub? wood horns opinion

    has anyone ever tried a substitue for the 2310 diffusion len? and what opinion of wood horns for my 2420 drivers. i have the 2420 driver/2327 throat/2309horn.

    Hi Icon,

    I used all the parts you listed.....
    I can tell you, that one of the best sounding (for hifi) horn I ever heard is the 2397 Smith horn. I use it with the 2328 and the 2441 driver. This horn is not easy to find, but easy to copy.
    Your 2420 driver, for my opinion, is a very fine sounding driver, but I never tried them with the 2397.

    I really like the 2397 with the 2441 also. I tried the 2397 with the 2420 and was disappointed. Perhaps the 2420 with a 2421 diaphragm would sound better. The problem with the 2420 on that horn was that it still sounded a bit peaky in the midrange. Either of these drivers still require a UHF device in my opinion.
