Any info on PS 95 coaxials?

I recently saw a set of PA cabs loaded with 15" coaxials identified as Altec Lansing PS95. I don't know if that's a driver designation or refers to the driver/cab together.

I can't find any more info/vital statistics. Can anyone illuminate the matter for me?

I'd also appreciate comments on the the suitability of the driver for home use.

    Thanks,

    Bill

If you folks are as baffled as I, can you suggest whom I could contact to get some information on these?

    Thanks,

    PS95 ?

    Hi Bill
Here's my wild guess about the info you search for .
The 950-8A coaxial from the 1993 catalog is as close as I can come to making that PS95 designation make sense.
If the PS95 is related to the 950-8A model I just linked to, then I'd be very surprised if it was sonically, in the same ballpark as the 604/ or even the 904 series of duplexes. The reason; those high power ratings ( & the ribbed cone ) usually translated ( for Altec ) into the use of their more rugged components which I don't think ever sounded as good as their more fragile/delicate componentry . Plus, my 1993 product time period is around when ( because of ownership) there was a bit of product crossover between EV & Altec .

Who might really know ? Maybe Jim Dickinson or Todd White at the "Unofficial" Altec Forum will be familiar with that designation number .

    regards <> Earl K

    Thanks, Earl.

I bet you've nailed 'em, as I remember they were rated for 400 watts.

    'Preciate it,

    Bill
