    Vintage JBL c36 Speaker Information?

    Hi,
I picked up these HUGE vintage JBL speakers today at a local church rummage sale, they have the wooden cabinet, and cloth grills.. with some other information on the back. I've attached some photos. Does anyone know the model of the drivers?? The gentleman said that they still work great.. but I don't have a receiver to test them on. Thanks for all of the help.

    030 system

Hey...nice find. Should be fun to clean up.

That has the 030 system which consists of D130 low frequency driver, 075 high freq driver and N2600 crossover network.

Thanks for the information. I'll clean them up, and maybe someone will be interested in them on the net auction sites. They must be worth more than the $25.00 I spent on them! They are really TOO BIG for my needs!

Original owner probably sold them on Ebay for ten-times what this guy paid for the boxes. Next we'll see these for sale without the 075s which will have met a similar fate to the legs. Next the D130s. Hate to say it but the fate of these as parts is pretty well already determined. Sad. Got to love a true vintage two-way.

In a few days, these will be sitting in my shop getting some TLC, and shortly after that will be sitting in my den...never to be parted out as long as I am alive. Nope. No Ebay, no A-gone. No way.

I have been looking for a pair of factory 030 variants for many years, and the fact that these have been sitting 20 miles away all this time blows my mind (one needs to understand the low population density of where I live to fathom the probability of this happening). Good karma?...

Now on the other hand...expect to see some L46s, L110s, or L40s up for sale soon. My cheif financial officer insists that my JBL hobby remains, at a minimum, cost-neutral....

All in all, a pretty cool find, and everyone wins with this one...

    My C36 project

First post here....found a C36 speaker at a flea market about 15 years ago....missing the woofer. Had the 075 bullet (serial 20927) and N2400 crossover (serial 13415) perfect grill and brass Signature badge....no legs. Glued down the spot of peeling veneer (korina I think) and paste waxed over the dings and scratches...a survivor but pretty beat up. Did most of these come with the D130 or D123? Has the adapter for the D123 bouncing around inside...leads me to believe it was shipped in the 002 configuration. Just won auction for a rebuilt (reconed) D123 (serial 62815) so it's working at least. Will post photos of everything when the woofer arrives. Want to reassemble unit correctly so will be asking more questions. Dating of the components would be appreciated. Thanks everyone...what a great forum!

Photos of C36 cleaned up and working

Only replacement component is the D123 ...dates a year or two later than the 1959 serial numbers on the 075 and N2400. Grill and badge are excellent...veneer is rough..waxed and cleaned. Sounds nice...very full and clean..like the 12" 2 way..seems to fit the cabinet size better.Name: 20180201_153435.jpg

Legs for Lustig designed 50's era JBL cabinets

Not reproductions...just nice solid machine turned legs 5.5" high with 5/16-18 threaded rod ends. Less than $10 each. Found online...extremely well made. I refuse to pay $200 for 8 ...Mono system anyway. Only downside...the 50's cabinets have 1/4-20 nuts Name: IMG_20180204_1334055_rewind.jpg
