    Bypass Caps

    Hi,

I scan thru the tech sheets for the new JBL Studio Monitors like 4312D and 4318 etc and noticed JBL stop using the 0.01 bypass caps in the network which was very common in earlier models.

Is there a reason for this? Thanks

Could simply be cost (bean-counting), or it could be that they feel that the newer polypropylene caps are good enough, that they don't need bypassing anymore.

Personally, I'd still be inclined to add polystyrene bypass caps, and see if it sounded better. Of course, do it in such a way, that you could UN-do it, if it didn't help...

    Regards,
    Gordon.
